Where will the group be staying to Explore Sedona?

The group will be dispersed camping in the Coconino National Forest. This is free camping. Here are some of the Dispersed Camping Guidleines for the Coconino National Forest as a refresher for ya.

GPS Coordinates: We'll be camping off 89A south of Sedona between Sedona and Cottonwood.

Can you tell me about Sedona, Arizona?

The city of Sedona is located in Coconino County in Arizona just south of Flagstaff, Arizona. Our camp site is located in the Coconino National Forest. "Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. [...] The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activiities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiing and mountain biking trails." - Wikipedia

What will the weather be like in during our stay?

Mostly sunny! Highs in the high 80s the first 3 days then dropping down to the 70s starting on Saturday. Lows in the 50s then 40s, then 30s the last few days. Source: Sedona - AccuWeather

What is the elevation of our camp site?

The elevation at our camp site is at about 3,937 feet.

What is the flora like at the  Sedona camp site?

You may see some yucca, prickly pear cactus, roadrunners, rabbits, squirrels, beetles, lizards, and century plants.   No talls pines anymore like in Flagstaff. At this lower elevation you'll see trees like the Alligator Juniper, the One-seed juniper,  and Singleleaf Pinyon, and others.

What are some things the group may do/explore in/near Sedona?

Morning walks/hikes, nightly camp fires (if allowed)/group chats, potlucks, movie nights (coming soon),  group outings, workshops, etc. See the 'Other Ideas' below for things we may explore in Sedona! Let us know what you want to explore! The Sedona Details page has more information on what we'll be exploring.
